Question

Are Mistruths and Denial The New Corporate Standard?

For months BP has been denying the high levels of oil that have been flooding the gulf or that plumes of oil below the surface are from the BP leak. Now nobody seems to know how 12 million McDonald's glasses were contaminated with Cadmium. http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-lazarus-20100611,0,1228879.column Eventually the truth seems to come out, so I would think if more companies admitted their mistakes earlier they would be seen as more credible. Instead they try to spin the facts and end up tarnishing their reputations. Why do you think more and more companies seem to be finding themselves in denial?
