I would like to find a book that is recently written that teaches me how to get my website recognized. I've look at SEO for Dummies, but I think it's already outdated.

first off, I don't think seo is something that you can learn from a book or two. actually you can read all the books and that still will not make you a good seo. it involves too many things
Don't pay for a book. There are so many active blogs on line that you will be wasting your money> There is more than enough free information out there at this point. Follow the blogs on Hubspot.com, SEOBook.com, and SEOMoz.org You will find plenty of free SEO advice and suggestions for free. They will have all of the information needed without paying someone money for doing something you can do easily by reading a few blogs. Most importantly, they will all have a list of things to do... Read even more carefully the things they say to not do. Sadly, the majority of these books for sale are out of date and suggest that you do things that are often no longer acceptable by the search engines. In Closing
