Without the right marketing, small business owners can’t hope to get their companies off the ground. Marketing can be an overwhelming task for those not experienced in its nuances. Microsoft has recently released an email extension with the hopes of helping people with their small business marketing efforts.
According to an announcement released by the company, the extension to Office 365, called Microsoft Connections, includes templates for customer referral, newsletters, announcements, reports and more. There are certainly other companies that provide more features, but Microsoft Connections is free to anyone already using Office 365.
Whether a small business should use Connections is up in the air. Microsoft is known for releasing clunky software that leaves people looking for other solutions. For now, small businesses that are already subscribing to email marketing software may want to stay where they are and wait for Connections to prove itself. Those small businesses without an email marketing system and who already subscribe to Office 365 may want to give it a try. It is free, afterall.
The good news is that no matter which solution you are using, once you have a list of subscribers, it is a fairly simple process to move across platforms. With that in mind, there may be nothing wrong with giving Connections a try and see if it has what you need.
