What is Employee Coaching?
Employee Coaching (also known as Work Coaching) provides employees with positive feedback regarding performance and contributions as well as assisting the employee in correcting minor problems. The goal is solving any performance problems and improving productivity of not just the employee but also the work group or department. This often involves an “action plan” that describes what must occur to correct the situation. If that does produce the desired results, then the employee can be placed on what is known as “performance improvement plan.” It sets out specific goals and timelines that must be met or else the employee may face termination.
