What is Outplacement?
Outplacement is when an employer provides support to an employee leaving the company and transitioning to another job. Outplacement can be as simple as career evaluation and job search advice, or more structured with workshops or printed materials designed to help the now former employee find a different job. Outplacement can be an effective tool to influence company culture or to lessen the reputation damage a disgruntled employee has. If employees are leaving a company happily, they are less likely to do reputational damage to a company.
